I wanted to wait a bit after the news first broke that Mike Guglielmucci had lied about having terminal cancer which he claimed inspired him to write the song "Healer." Obviously, my thoughts and prayers go out to the Guglielmucci familyand to the churches (Hillsong and Planetshakers) directly affected by this tragic incident.
Many people facing terminal illnesses and hopeless situations gained strength by the message behind this song, and that's where I'd like to focus today. I will leave it up to someone else to pass judgmentand decide what should be done with Michael Guglielmucci. But for now, what about the message of this song?

I am a living testimony that the message of this song is true. As a young boy I was healed of cystic fibrosis, and large amounts of scar tissuethat was formed on my lungs due to reoccurring pneumonia disappeared of off my lungs. During our times of ministry I have personally witnessed miraculous happenings such as lumps and cysts disappearing, lame legs gain strength and walk, blind eyes opened, heart disease reversed, rheumatoid arthritis vanish, braces and walkers left behind, and yes, I have even experienced seeing people miraculously healed of cancer.
So God truly is our healer. He is all we need. There is nothing that is impossible for Christ. And I thoroughly place my full trust in Jesus. The message behind this song is true, and no sin of man can dilute the power of God.
If God could use a donkey to speak His wonders, then I believe God can use an imperfect man just the same. I am absolutely not making an excuse for Mike's sin. Instead I'm staking claim that God's grace is sufficient. And just like in this occurrence in the Bible, the gallows that were built with the intentions of wiping out God's people will be turned around to wipe out the enemies of God and His people.
Remember, the brightness of the light of God's powerful truth always defeats the darkness of man's weakness of sin and Satan's evil schemes.
